Mauricio Pochettino's Full Pre-Aston Villa Press Conference:

Mauricio Pochettino: "We have had time to work. It's a very good week. The players we have worked very hard. For the fans, of course, it is difficult because normally Chelsea are involved in the [UCL]."

I am so happy with how the team feel after Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, they really care, and they really want to win games."

Mauricio Pochettino on Armando Broja: "We cannot put responsibility on him [to score all the goals]. The responsibility must be on the team and collective effort. We cannot expect Broja will score with every single touch, he needs to feel the competition."

Mauricio Pochettino on owners' feelings: "We talk, we are talking with sporting directors, they are supporting the project. They are not disappointed because we have similar feelings about the project."

Mauricio Pochettino on Nicolas Jackson: "Today we were talking about that as we had a meeting with him and also Enzo. A striker, four yellow cards only for talking with the referee. Mauricio Pochettino on Thiago Silva: "Why is Thiago here? Because he wants to stay here. He stayed here because the club wanted him. They extended the contract. Thiago knew the project very well when he extended... He knew the project..." "You are asking me if he wants to win now? But he knew the project that the club is delivering now. Mauricio Pochettino on injuries: "Of course. Before we arrived here we did everything to try to have a clear idea of why there were too many injuries last season – analyse the risk map and then it is the profile of the player. It is not the methodology, it is not the people working in the medical staff or the coaching staff or the performance area. I think we need to respect these areas. They are very good professionals, qualified people, and that is why they are working in football. But sometimes it happens. The individual players, sometimes there is some risk you assess."
